Hello, I have a film camera: Canon EOS Rebel Gii and I recently bought a Canon EF 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens to go with it. I did a lot of research about which lenses are compatible, and all stated that EF lenses would work. However, the lens won't focus manually or automatically unless I first connect the original lens it came with The Canon EF 28โ€“105 mm f/4โ€“5.6 is an inexpensive zoom lens often included as a kit lens with Canon 35 mm single-lens reflex cameras. 28โ€“105 mm is a standard wide to telephoto zoom range. The Canon EF 28โ€“105 mm f/3.5โ€“4.5 USM is a higher quality zoom lens with a better build quality. Currently every version of this lens is discontinued. Diameter x Length (mm) 2. 83.4 x 104. Weight (g) 525. *Lenses with dust/moisture resistance are fitted with a rubber ring on the lens mount which may cause sligth abrasion of the camera mount. This in no way effects either the lens or camera performance. ยน Minimum aperture if using 1/3stop increments. Hope someone out there finds this interesting - if not - sorry. Today - in the post - fleabay purchase (bought cos it came with a lovely camera bag) - a canon ef 35 105 arrived. Just for fun and out of interest I fitted it on my 7d and had a walk round the garden - fortunately, and unusually at the moment - the sun was shining - big help. The Canon EF 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM is not a macro lens. The close-focus point is at 40cm from the film/sensor plane, and Canon quotes a maximum reproduction ratio of 0.3x for the lens when set to 105mm. The following example illustrate how close you can get to the subject. Close-up performance. That is what we have in the Canon RF 24-240mm F4-6.3 IS USM Lens. At 24mm, the f/4 aperture is reasonably wide (though few 24mm lenses do not open to at least f/4). Unfortunately, f/4 is only available for a very short 3mm range. At 240mm, we have the narrowest max aperture found in a Canon EF or RF full frame lens.
The Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM Lens is the least expensive option. The EF-M 11-22mm is sharper across the frame, has less flare and CA but slightly more vignetting and distortion. Both lenses feature image stabilization. The Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM Lens offers a wider focal range with a slightly faster aperture throughout the
